Dear Regan,
I just found this article about your book. I applaud what you have done. I am a mother of 3 athletic children (2 boys, 1 girl) and have enough information that I could have contributed to your base of experiences. My children are now young adults. 2 of them played their respective sports in college, the 3rd decided not to. We tried very hard to raise good kids, but even in my best efforts, looking back I know now what I could have done better to make them more well rounded.
I've thought about starting a blog just for parents of athletic children - a place for them to vent, to open up, to discuss. I know there are several sites for 'team moms' etc. but they all offer advice from psychologists, trainers etc. but what about people like me who have lived it and are just regular moms, working, but do have significant insights? I could help some parents.
Do you have a blog for this subject?
Thank you for your good work,
Terri Harkins
